Short Course in Winemaking 2 Nights a Week over 5 Weeks (10 Sessions)

Plus a visit to a local winery (Practical Instruction by Winemaker)

The Winemaking Course is designed for people wanting to acquire practical skills in professional winemaking.

A background in Science or Chemistry would be useful but not essential.

The course is practically based, with students gaining practical skills in both winemaking and wine analysis.

Ample time is available for students to ask questions, thereby gaining full benefit from each session.

Guest winemakers from the Yarra Valley provide expert instruction during two sessions of the course, covering both red and white winemaking.

The Winemaking Course is conducted two nights a week (Tuesday & Wednesday) over 5 weeks.

Course Schedule : Tuesday 2nd April until Wednesday 8th May, 2019

                                    Plus a practical session at a local winery. (Saturday 11th May, commencing at 11 am). 

Note; The Week involving Tuesday 23rd / Wednesday 24th April, due to ANZAC day there will be no classes.


Time: 7.00 – 9.30 pm (21/2 hours/session)

Venue: ANPROS company premises at F16, 15 Macquarie Place, Boronia.


Costs involved

Fees are $874.50 (inclusive of GST) for 10 sessions plus a practical session at a local winery. (on Saturday 11th May, commencing at 11 am).

A copy of the Winemaking manual “ How to Make Good Wine “ is also required. Cost $44.00 (inc GST)

  1. A deposit of $195.00 (inc GST), payable by Credit card (phone ANPROS on (03) 9720 9514) is required before the 18th March 2019
  2. The balance of $679.50 payable by Tuesday 2nd April 2019 (first session) 
  3. Winemaking Manual, Cost: $44.00 (Inc. GST), not included in Course Fees, can be purchased separately, without attending the course

First published in 1986 and revised every 2-3 years, this practical guide to Premium Winemaking was originally produced as a student’s manual to accompany the first practical Winemaking Courses held in Victoria.

This comprehensive guide entitled “How to Make Good Wine”  may be purchased separately from the course, Cost $44.00 (incl.GST).

Authors Background

Graeme’s qualifications include both a Diploma & Degree in Applied Chemistry and a Diploma of Education He also achieved a Certificate in Advanced Sensory  Wine Evaluation at William Angliss under the guidance of the legendary, Colin Richardson.

He started work originally at CUB (Carlton & United Breweries Ltd) in Melbourne, where he worked for 10 years, initially as a trainee Chemist, then Chemist in Charge of Raw Materials Analysis and finally as a Brewer at the Victoria Plant.

Graeme then worked part-time with Lou Bianchet, owner of Bianchet Winery in the Yarra Valley both in the vineyard and providing technical assistance in the winery until Lou unfortunately passed away.

In 1986, Graeme was appointed, Victorian Wineries Sales Manager for Robert Bryce & Co, supplying a wide range of products to the Victorian Wineries.

In1989, Graeme started a company, known as Winery Supplies Pty Ltd, supplying products to the Australian Wine Industry, covering all aspects of the production of wine from “the grape to bottle”.

Today, Graeme is the Managing Director of Analytical Products & Services (ANPROS) Pty Ltd, located in Boronia, Victoria.
